In this track, students study for a BA degree in the Department of Art History and the Department of Business Administration. They gain an in-depth knowledge of the field of Art History and are intensively exposed to the other disciplines taught at the Institute of Arts – Theatre Studies, Musicology and Folklore. During their studies, students meet with managers of leading art institutions, such as the Israel Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum, the Haifa Museum, the Museum for Islamic Art, Museum on the Seam, the Israel Festival, the Confederation House and more, and receive a rare glimpse into the way art institutes are run behind the scenes. The students of the program form a close and supportive group, and the program is distinguished by the individual treatment of each student. During the third year of their studies, students take part in an intensive, 200-hour practical internship, during which they gain experience working in a leading Israeli cultural institution of their choice, selected according to their interests and future aspirations. Students of the Art History track have interned, among others, at the different departments of the Israel Museum (Israeli Art, Modern Art, Jewish Art and Culture, the Youth Wing and more), JCU (Jerusalem Culture Unlimited – an organization advising Jerusalem art institutions), and the Beta Art Gallery. |
